China Clocks

Antique China Clocks

A feminine style of shelf clock is a china or porcelain clock, so called because the case is made entirely of bone or bisque china or porcelain. These clocks have designs with curves and flowers painted on off-white or pastel backgrounds. Usually one company made the case and another, the works. Royal Bonn in Germany designed many beautiful cases, and Ansonia Company in the US made the movements. Not all of the cases are marked on the bottom or back with a manufacturer`s mark.
